About the Squamish 50 Mile

The Squamish 50 Mile is the longest single-day distance in a trail-focused weekend north of Vancouver. Its own start, cutoff and 80-kilometre course make it distinct from the accompanying 50K and 23K.

Course

The 50-mile route gains and loses roughly 3,500 metres, with about 90 percent on singletrack. Steep forest trail, roots and sustained technical running make raw road pace largely irrelevant.

Race-day weather

Mid-August in Squamish may be warm and dry, but Coast Mountain rain and cool forest sections remain possible. Heat exposure increases on clear cuts and more open climbs.
