About the Shoreline Marathon
The Southern California race is centered at Solimar Beach and keeps the Pacific close throughout the day. Its Ventura setting distinguishes it from similarly named shoreline races elsewhere.
Course
Marathoners complete three measured beachfront loops on a certified course. The repeated design brings regular aid and familiar landmarks, while exposed oceanfront sections can amplify wind.
Race-day weather
July on the Ventura coast is often cool and overcast early before sun breaks through. Marine air can moderate heat, but humidity and a direct coastal breeze may still affect pace.

Is Shoreline Marathon a Boston qualifier?
Yes. Shoreline Marathon is a Boston Marathon qualifier. Meeting the standard lets you apply but does not guarantee entry, and net-downhill courses can receive a time adjustment under current B.A.A. rules.
