Quick facts

  • Point-to-point course from South Reno to a downtown ballpark finish.
  • Long stretches follow the Truckee River on bike paths and park roads.
  • Two-person relay option with an exchange at the midpoint.
  • High-desert conditions: cold start, dry air, and quick warming at 4,500 feet.

About the Rock Reno Half Marathon

Reno Running Company built this race around a finish most locals recognize: the ballpark at Greater Nevada Field, home of the Reno Aces. The point-to-point format sets it apart from the area's loop races, and a two-person relay splits the distance for runners not ready for the full 13.1.

Course

From the Swift Sportsdome in South Reno, the route works north through east Reno streets, bike paths, and parks, then follows the Truckee River into downtown before entering the ballpark finish. Six aid stations carry water and electrolytes, with nutrition at the midpoint relay exchange.

Race-day weather

Early October in Reno typically starts in the low 40s and warms fast under high-desert sun. The air is dry at 4,500 feet, so even a cool morning can dehydrate runners who skip early aid stations.
