About the Riverhead Backyard ReLaps Ultra
Riverhead Backyard ReLaps Ultra takes the last-person-standing format into Riverhead Forest northwest of Auckland. Individuals start a 6.7 km yard each hour and continue until one runner completes a final loop alone.
Lactic Turkey runs the event as a distinct individual backyard race, separate from any relay identity associated with the weekend. The pine-forest course, central support setup and detailed live leaderboard make it especially useful for runners and followers tracking progress yard by yard.
Course
The 6.7 km loop travels through commercial pine forest from the Ararimu Valley Road area. It follows a rolling route through the lower valley with roughly 75 metres of climbing per yard.
Race-day weather
Early April brings mild autumn conditions around Auckland, but rain and humidity are common enough to affect forest footing. Nights can turn cool after a comfortable afternoon.
