Quick facts
- World Athletics Elite Label marathon with strong international standing.
- Historic central-city route gives it more scenery than a purely utilitarian speed course.
- Strong elite racing gives it more top-end depth than a typical local city marathon.
- Cool spring mornings can turn warmer by the second half.
- Certified 42.195 km course fully closed to traffic.
Course
The course runs through central Prague rather than hiding the race on outer roads. That gives it strong scenery and crowd support, but the city-center layout can break rhythm more than a pure straight-line speed course.
Race-day weather
Early May in Prague is usually cool enough for a comfortable start, but the day can warm noticeably by late race hours. Sun exposure matters more once the field thins and you settle into solo effort.
About the Vodafone Prague Marathon
Prague International Marathon is one of the stronger city marathons on the European spring calendar. RunCzech gives it real international polish, and the mix of central-city scenery, elite racing, and weekend atmosphere makes it appealing well beyond the local field.
