About the Poulsbo Half Marathon

Orca Running's fall stop in Poulsbo trades big-city crowds for a small Scandinavian-themed waterfront town on Liberty Bay. It draws Seattle-area runners who take the ferry across, and the event bundles with other Orca and Evergreen Trail races for series regulars.

Course

The loop starts and finishes at Liberty Bay Waterfront Park and passes through downtown Poulsbo before working the surrounding roads. Aid comes every 2 to 3 miles with water, electrolyte, and gels, and the race is cupless, so plan to carry a soft cup or bottle. The course closes at noon.

Race-day weather

Early October on the Kitsap Peninsula usually runs 45 to 60 degrees with marine clouds. Rain is a real possibility, so a brimmed hat and a throwaway layer at the start are practical choices.
