About the Palisades Half Marathon
Palisades Parks Conservancy runs this race to support the Palisades Interstate Park, and the setting is the draw: a start and finish at Fort Lee Historic Park beside the George Washington Bridge, with the field climbing park roads most New York area runners have only seen from a car.
Course
The USATF-certified route stays on pavement but climbs like a trail race, with more than 1,430 feet of gain along the ridge. Long overlooks of the Hudson break up the grades, and the return to Fort Lee Historic Park keeps the finish close to the bridge. Pace by effort, not by flat-half splits.
Race-day weather
Late September in Fort Lee usually means mornings in the 50s and afternoons near 70. Humidity is fading by this point in the year, but sun on the open overlooks can make the second half feel warmer than the start.
