About the Noyo Headlands Half Marathon

The Noyo Headlands Race has run for a decade as Mendocino Land Trust's benefit event, and the half marathon is its longest distance. Entry fees fund trail and habitat conservation along the Mendocino County coast, and a field of a few hundred keeps race morning low-key.

Course

The half uses the oceanfront multi-use trail through Noyo Headlands Park, a mix of asphalt and soft track that stays close to the bluffs. The route is mostly flat, so pace comes down to wind off the Pacific rather than climbing.

Race-day weather

Fort Bragg in August usually means marine layer, temperatures in the 50s, and little heat risk. Fog can sit over the bluffs into late morning, and a light layer at the start is often welcome.
