About the Marquette Marathon

Labor Day weekend brings marathon, half, relay and shorter events to the Marquette area. The individual full is kept separate here, with its own start, distance and Boston qualifying value.

Course

The certified point-to-point course moves from the Ishpeming area toward downtown Marquette. An overall fast profile encourages ambitious targets, though runners still need restraint across the early Upper Peninsula miles.

Race-day weather

Early September near Lake Superior can be cool and crisp, but sun, rain and a warm finish are all possible. Lake-influenced wind and quick temperature changes deserve attention.
