About the Marathon Eryri
Marathon Eryri, long known as Snowdonia Marathon, is one of the UK's defining mountain road marathons. The race circles Yr Wyddfa through Eryri National Park and uses a ballot to manage demand for its limited field.
Course
The route climbs Pen y Pass early, rolls through mountain valleys, and saves a steep Bwlch y Groes ascent for the final quarter. Most of the course is paved, with a short farm-track section adding rougher footing before the finish in Llanberis.
Race-day weather
Late October in Eryri can produce rain, wind, cold ridge exposure, and sudden visibility changes. Runners should prepare for mountain weather even when Llanberis feels mild.
