About the Lake Mead Marathon
Boulder Beach serves as the hub for this Nevada marathon inside Lake Mead National Recreation Area. It is a smaller desert race with direct access to the landscape rather than a Las Vegas street event.
Course
The route leaves Boulder Beach for the paved River Mountains Loop Trail. Desert rollers, broad views and limited shade shape the effort, while the recreation-area setting keeps the race away from urban traffic.

January usually brings cool desert running weather, but the exposed course can still deliver strong sun, wind and a large temperature swing. Hydration remains important in the dry air.
