Quick facts
- Main-entry places are drawn by lottery through Runable, with later first-come rounds.
- Entrants should be able to finish within five hours.
- All distances gather at 6:30 for a 7:30 start.
- Timing mats sit every 5 km and at halfway.
- Recent international men's winners have run between 2:05 and 2:07.
Course
The full marathon starts at Gwanghwamun Square and finishes at Olympic Park, while the 10K runs its own route from Sangam World Cup Park to Yeouido Park. The full course was revised late in the build-up, changing the Cheonggyecheon turnaround and the out-and-back near the finish at Dunchon, so pace from the current GPX rather than an older race plan.
About the JTBC Seoul Marathon
The JTBC Seoul Marathon is the city's autumn big race, separate from the March Seoul Marathon. It grew out of the JoongAng Ilbo Seoul Half Marathon and is now run by JTBC, Korea's athletics federation, and Runable, with an international elite race ahead of a mass lottery field.
