About the Auckland Marathon
Auckland Marathon is New Zealand's largest marathon weekend and one of the few chances runners get to cross the Auckland Harbour Bridge on foot. The event combines destination appeal with a fully measured urban course and several companion distances.
Course
The point-to-point marathon starts on the North Shore, includes the Harbour Bridge climb, and continues through central Auckland toward Victoria Park. The first half carries more elevation change, while later waterfront sections are generally faster.
Race-day weather
Auckland spring mornings are often mild, humid, and changeable. Wind on the bridge and exposed waterfront can matter more than temperature, with showers always possible.
