Jackson County Ultras closes the DINO Trail Series season with a December 100K based at the PYOCA camp near Brownstown, alongside a 50K, a 10 mile, and a 100K relay for teams of two to six. Southern Indiana's knobs give the long course far more climbing than most Midwest ultras, and 100K finishers earn a belt buckle.

The 100K works through the ridges of Jackson-Washington State Forest with roughly 9,200 feet of climbing, and the direction of travel flips each year. Aid comes often, with 17 stops across the distance, and the 24-hour limit means most of the field runs deep into a winter night. Expect steep, leaf-covered climbs rather than smooth groomed trail.

Early December in southern Indiana usually runs from the 20s overnight to the 40s by afternoon. Rain, mud, and an occasional early snow are realistic, and the long night hours make layers and dry socks more useful than raw speed.
