Heroes of America Marathon

Heroes of America is a Columbus road race weekend with civilian and military divisions plus a relay option. The official race materials are practical rather than flashy, but they clearly establish the downtown start, Riverwalk miles, base-access logistics, and flat-certified marathon.

The marathon starts and finishes at West 10th Street and Bay Avenue in front of Woodruff Park. From there it uses the 14th Street Pedestrian Bridge, the Riverwalk, and miles inside Fort Moore before exiting around mile 17 and returning through Columbus. The official page describes the course as reasonably flat with some smaller inclines.

Late March in Columbus can start mild and finish warmer once the sun is up. It is not usually deep-summer Georgia weather, but a flat second half can still get expensive if you go out too hard.
