About the Haunted Forest Marathon
Canal Fulton hosts this Halloween-season race on the towpath, pairing playful theming with a serious qualifier setup. A capped field keeps the event smaller than most urban fall marathons.
Course
The measured towpath route changes only about 57 feet in elevation. Its straight, level character favors rhythm, while the path surface, narrow sections and turnaround traffic still require attention.
Race-day weather
Late October in northeast Ohio can be crisp and dry or cold, wet and windy. Fallen leaves and rain may affect towpath footing even when the elevation profile looks ideal.
