About the Hachie 50
The Waxahachie and Midlothian running clubs put on the Hachie 50 in Getzendaner Park south of Dallas, with proceeds supporting the local Lions Club. The 50 mile ultra shares the morning with a certified marathon and a 50 mile team relay, and the event keeps the feel of a well-supported club race rather than a commercial production.
Course
The out-and-back course stays in a city park mostly closed to traffic, running about 90 percent on concrete sidewalks with short dirt and gravel stretches. It is flat, fast, and tree-lined, which makes it one of the friendlier Texas 50 mile courses for a debut or a time goal. The concrete is the main tax on legs late in the race.
