About the Göteborgsvarvet
Göteborgsvarvet bills itself as the world’s largest half marathon and turns race day into a citywide festival. Multiple start waves, dense spectator support, and dozens of music stations make the experience more communal than solitary.
Course
The 21.1-kilometer route crosses two major bridges, takes in harbor and archipelago views, reaches the central Avenyn boulevard, and finishes on the track at Slottsskogsvallen. Bridge climbs and exposure make it more varied than a pure flat-course time trial.
Race-day weather
Late May in Gothenburg can be cool, sunny, rainy, or windy, sometimes in the same afternoon. Later start waves should be ready for warmer conditions, while bridge wind can affect every group.
