About the Galveston Marathon
Galveston's winter marathon gives Texas runners a coastal full-marathon option during a generally favorable temperature window. The event also offers half-marathon and 5K distances.
Course
The paved island course is nearly flat and spends substantial time near the seawall. Its lack of climbing favors even pacing, but long exposed straightaways make wind decisive.
Race-day weather
February is usually mild, though Gulf humidity, rain, and strong crosswinds can arrive quickly. Conditions may feel cooler beside the water than inland.
