Fall Foot Half Marathon
Bend's point-to-point half gives away roughly 500 feet in its first half on the Cascade Lakes bike path, then flattens out along the Deschutes River Trail.
Quick facts
- Point-to-point route with roughly 500 feet of elevation loss in the first half.
- Paved bike path and river trail throughout, so footing stays predictable.
- Shares race morning with the Bigfoot 10K, a Bend fixture since the 1970s.
- Riverbend Park finish puts runners next to Old Mill parking and food.
About the Fall Foot Half Marathon
Run Bend and the Central Oregon Running Klub built this half onto the same October morning as the Bigfoot 10K, a Bend fixture since the 1970s. The half is the newer distance on that schedule and has pulled a growing Central Oregon field without turning into a mass event.
Course
The start sits at the Cascade Lakes Welcome Center and the opening miles run downhill on paved bike path before joining the Deschutes River Trail. From the Old Mill District the route turns flat, loops out to First Street Rapids on the newer pedestrian path, and finishes at Riverbend Park.
Race-day weather
Early October in Bend usually means a high desert start near freezing and a comfortable finish. Sun exposure on the open path stretches matters more than rain this time of year.
