About the EPIC Marathon
EPIC gives Wisconsin runners a May marathon option outside the largest city events, with family distances and a RunSignup-backed event system.
Course
The course is a road marathon in lake-country Wisconsin, so rolling terrain, neighborhoods, and spring weather define the day more than big-city crowds.
Race-day weather
Mid-May in Wisconsin can be cool, wet, windy, or surprisingly warm. Runners should be ready for a chilly start and a changing second half.

EPIC Marathon FAQ
When is the EPIC Marathon?
The 2027 EPIC Marathon is on Sunday, May 16, 2027.
Is EPIC Marathon a Boston qualifier?
Yes. EPIC Marathon is a Boston Marathon qualifier. To use the result, you must run the certified full-marathon course within the qualifying window and meet the current standard for your age and gender. Meeting the standard lets you apply but does not guarantee entry, and net-downhill courses can receive a time adjustment under current B.A.A. rules. Review the Boston qualifying times and downhill-course rules, or browse upcoming Boston qualifier marathons.
