Course

The 100-kilometre route crosses Cuyamaca Rancho and a portion of Anza-Borrego State Park. Varied ecosystems, trail surfaces and sustained climbing make pacing complex.

Race-day weather

Early October may bring dry heat, strong sun, cold nighttime air or mountain wind. The course's elevation and desert edge create sharper variation than coastal San Diego.
