Quick facts

  • Nearly 6,000 feet of gain and loss in the 50K.

  • A 14-hour limit supports a wide range of trail paces.
  • Fire roads and singletrack create frequent changes in footing.

About the Ray Miller 50K

Ray Miller's 50K keeps the event's coastal mountain character in a shorter format. The course is still a serious trail ultra, but its long time allowance makes the day accessible to patient hikers as well as runners.

Course

Nearly 6,000 feet of gain and loss come from steep fire roads and narrower trails across Point Mugu. Long views can make the exposed sections feel open, while canyon stretches bring shade and tighter footing.

Race-day weather

The December start may be chilly, but dry air and direct sun can raise the effort quickly on exposed climbs. Coastal wind and cooler canyon pockets make conditions change across the route.
