About the Conquer the Wall Marathon
Conquer the Wall is a separate Great Wall marathon experience from the Huangyaguan race, emphasizing more remote wall sections and extreme climbing.
Course
The route uses Great Wall stairs and rugged sections around Gubeikou and Jinshanling, so finishing depends on climbing strength and careful footing.
Race-day weather
May can be warm on exposed wall sections. Shade is limited in places, and the stairs make the race feel more like a mountain effort than a road marathon.
