About the Cal-Neva Marathon
This Saturday marathon is both a standalone race and the middle stage of the Tahoe Triple. Its route, date and finish are distinct from Friday's Lakeside and Sunday's Lake Tahoe marathons.
Course
The net-downhill course begins at Spooner Summit and travels to Commons Beach in Tahoe City. High elevation and sustained descent can tax the legs even as the profile appears fast.
Race-day weather
October at Lake Tahoe may start below freezing and warm rapidly in mountain sun. Wind and sudden high-elevation weather remain possible along the exposed point-to-point route.
