About the Burning River 100 Mile
Burning River is northeast Ohio's established 100-mile trail race and a Western States qualifier. Solo runners share the event with relay teams, but the 100-mile result has its own distance, cutoff and awards.
Course
The out-and-back route connects Cuyahoga Falls and Silver Springs through park roads, towpath and technical trail. Roughly 8,000 feet of gain and repeated surface changes reward conservative pacing.
Race-day weather
Late July in northeast Ohio can be hot, humid and stormy. Night running may cool the course, but wet trails, summer thunderstorms and a high dew point can compound fatigue.
