Wave starts manage a separately entered 13.1-mile field at Tolt-MacDonald Park, where the weekend also offers marathon, 10K and 5K races.
Course
A flat gravel route leaves the park and runs beneath evergreen cover on the Snoqualmie Valley Trail before turning back toward Carnation.
Race-day weather
Mid-September in the valley is often mild, though rain can soften the gravel and cool shaded stretches well below open-road conditions.
