About the BB Backyard Ultra

BB Backyard Ultra brings the last-runner-standing format to Kivi Park in Sudbury. The race has several editions of local history and a results archive, while its autumn trail setting changes character between daylight and overnight yards.

Course

A 6.7K trail yard starts every hour from the Kivi Park base area. The organizer describes a mix of packed ski trail and straightforward single-track, though the detailed route can change between editions. The winner must complete one more yard than every other runner; otherwise the race records no winner.

Race-day weather

Early October in Northern Ontario can bring cool rain, wind and sharply colder overnight temperatures, with frost possible by morning. Trail footing can change as moisture shifts, so layers and spare dry gear matter for a long stay in the race.
