About the Backside Trail Marathon
This Louisville trail race gives marathoners a full-distance challenge inside two of the city's best-known parks. The companion half covers a separate distance and should not be merged into the row.
Course
Marathoners complete two loops on technical park trail across Seneca and Cherokee. Roots, rocks, short climbs and repeated turns create a demanding contrast to Louisville road racing.

Late April in Louisville can be mild, warm, humid or stormy. Spring rain may produce mud and slick roots, while leafing trees provide only partial shade.
