About the Austria Backyard Ultra Seekirchen/Wallersee

Austria Backyard Ultra Seekirchen/Wallersee is the open race on the same course and day as Austria's Backyard Ultra World Team Championship competition. The two fields have different starts and must remain separate. The open race offers the standard last-runner-standing format on a fast lakeside yard.

Course

The 6.706K out-and-back leaves the lido and follows a mostly flat mix of gravel and asphalt near Wallersee. Three short climbs interrupt the otherwise quick yard. A new loop begins every hour and the open race continues until only one runner can complete another yard.

Race-day weather

October beside Wallersee can be cool and damp, with fog, rain and a colder overnight period all plausible. The flat course may run quickly in dry conditions, but exposed lakeside sections can make wind and wet clothing matter over many yards.
