About the Zionsville Half Marathon
One of the larger November races near Indianapolis, drawing a combined field of more than 2,000 runners and walkers across the half and 5K. Official pacers, a beer garden at the finish and a genuinely fast course keep it on the calendar for Indy area clubs.
Course
Certified and flat. The route leaves downtown Zionsville along the brick section of Main Street, runs out into the countryside, then comes back on the crushed stone Big 4 Rail Trail to finish at Lions Park. The rail trail return means a predictable, wind exposed final stretch.
Race-day weather
Late November in central Indiana usually means a start in the 30s and a finish in the 40s. Grey and breezy is common, and the open farm sections leave no shelter from a headwind.
