About the Broad River Half Marathon
This is the long distance at a small Midlands trail gathering held just outside Columbia. Half marathon fields have grown from around 100 to 150 finishers, so expect a low key day with room on the trail rather than a packed start corral.
Course
Singletrack and forest road inside Harbison State Forest, with shaded woodland, stream crossings and steady rolling climbs. Nothing is brutally steep, but the constant up and down and the leaf covered footing make even pacing hard. Hikers are welcome on the same route.
Race-day weather
Late November in the South Carolina Midlands usually starts in the 40s and warms into the 60s. Tree cover keeps the sun off, but recent rain can leave the stream crossings running high.
