About the Zengwen Reservoir Marathon
Zengwen Reservoir Marathon dates to 1983 and is recognized as Taiwan's oldest marathon. Its full-distance race takes place entirely inside the reservoir area on roads closed to traffic.
Course
The 42.195-kilometer route begins in the Zengwen Reservoir recreation area and passes reservoir bridges, the dam crest and the Eye of Zengwen viewpoint. Runners have six and a half hours to finish the rolling course.
Race-day weather
Southern Taiwan can be mild to warm in December, with sun exposure and humidity around the reservoir. Shaded hills and open water crossings may feel noticeably different.
