Finger Lakes Runners Club stages this demanding trail full between Virgil and Harford. The marathon covers two loops, while the companion half completes one and remains a separate race.
Course
Two 13.1-mile trail loops through Kennedy State Forest produce roughly 4,400 feet of climbing. Steep grades and technical forest footing make the second circuit a serious endurance test.

Late August in central New York can be warm and humid, with thunderstorms or heavy rain possible. Forest shade helps with sun but can preserve mud and slick roots.
