About the Race Half Marathon

The Race launched in 2018 after a community Kickstarter by the Unity Collective, created as a race for the culture, by the culture. The course was drawn on purpose through Atlanta's historically Black neighborhoods so residents could see the field come through, and the weekend has grown to include an expo and a community service day.

Course

The road course starts on Sylvan Road in East Point and works through neighborhoods including Sylvan Hills, Westview, Oakland City, and Capitol View. Expect an urban route with plenty of turns and neighborhood crowd support rather than a closed parkway loop.

Race-day weather

Early October in Atlanta often starts in the 50s or low 60s and warms quickly. Summer humidity can linger, so the second half of the race can feel warmer than the forecast reads.
