Tenerife Bluetrail by UTMB 110K

Tenerife Bluetrail's 110K is an island crossing with an exceptional sea-to-summit profile. Runners leave Los Cristianos at night, climb through volcanic terrain toward Mount Teide, and descend to a beach finish in Puerto de la Cruz. The route compresses coastal trail, high-altitude exposure, and a major summit into one continuous south-to-north journey.

The 110-kilometer course gains about 6,250 meters and reaches roughly 3,555 meters on Mount Teide. It starts at Playa de Los Cristianos, traverses Tenerife from south to north, and finishes at the Atlantic in Puerto de la Cruz. Long volcanic climbs, exposed high-altitude terrain, and a huge final descent define the race.

Conditions can change dramatically between Tenerife's coast and the high slopes of Teide. The seaside start may be mild, while the upper mountain can be cold, windy, and exposed during the night. Strong sun and warmer temperatures can return on the descent, so flexible layering and sun protection are essential.
