About the Tango 100km Ultramarathon
The Tango 100km Ultramarathon is a large Japanese road ultra with thousands of places across its 100K and 60K races. The longer distance starts before dawn in staggered waves and gives runners 14 hours to negotiate the hills of the Tango Peninsula.
Course
The 100K starts and finishes at Amity Tango in Kyotango. Roads cross the San'in Kaigan UNESCO Global Geopark, linking coastal villages, inland climbs, and exposed sections near the Sea of Japan. Runners carry their own bottle and cup, with the event warning that shelter can be limited in rain.
Race-day weather
September on the Sea of Japan coast can be warm and humid even before sunrise, with rain and wind also possible. The long climbs and exposed coastal roads make heat management and steady hydration central to finishing inside the limit.
