About the St. Petersburg Marathon
The Distance Classic weekend gave St. Petersburg its first marathon run entirely inside the city, and the full distance leans on what the city does well: bayfront parks, a walkable downtown, and mural-covered Central Avenue. Pacers, on-course music, and a certified course aim the race at goal-time runners as much as visitors.
Course
Runners head north into Snell Isle and around Coffee Pot Bayou before turning south along the waterfront, through downtown, and out Central Avenue past the mural district, with a shaded stretch on the Pinellas Trail. The profile stays flat nearly the whole way, so rhythm matters more than hills.
Race-day weather
Early February is the friendly end of Florida racing, typically 50s at the predawn start and low 70s by late morning. Humidity is usually manageable but never zero, and sun becomes a real factor for anyone still out past mid-morning.
