Course
The marathon starts at 42nd Street and Atlantic Avenue and stays true to the race’s reputation: flat, fast, and built for consistent pacing. Expect a road course with long runnable stretches, steady crowd support, and enough oceanfront exposure that wind can matter more than elevation.
Race-day weather
Late March in Virginia Beach usually means cool temperatures and at least some chance of wind off the ocean. That keeps overheating out of the equation for most runners, but gusts and long exposed stretches can still reshape pacing plans.
About the Yuengling Shamrock Marathon
Yuengling Shamrock Marathon is the centerpiece road race of Virginia Beach's Shamrock weekend and one of the region's most established spring marathons. It has enough size and crowd support to feel like an event, but the main draw is straightforward: a flat course, steady energy, and a legitimate BQ shot.
