About the Raven 24-Hour
The Raven is built for runners chasing measured 24-hour performance rather than a festival of many distances. Every entrant competes in the same 24-hour race, while 100K and 100-mile marks are recorded as splits. The field is selected around qualifying standards and record attempts.
Course
Runners circle a USATF-certified 400-meter rubberized track for 24 hours, changing direction every four hours. The oval is lighted overnight, and an electronic display shows laps and accumulated distance. Showers, indoor restrooms and a kitchenette sit close enough to minimize time away from the track.
Race-day weather
February on the South Carolina coast is often cool enough for long track running, but a full day can still bring sun, rain, wind and a broad temperature swing. The shaded oval and indoor facilities help, while runners still need clothing for overnight exposure.
