About the International Poseidon Athens Half Marathon
This spring half marathon keeps the race on the Athens Riviera rather than the city's inland historic course. The two-lap format brings runners back through Flisvos Marina and the Faliro sports complex before a track finish.
Course
The two-lap 21.1 km route starts at Palaio Faliro's Cultural and Athletic Center. It runs through Flisvos Marina, along Poseidonos Avenue, across the Esplanade and toward the Peace and Friendship Stadium before returning to finish on the center's track.
Race-day weather
Late April in coastal Athens is often mild, but direct sun can warm the second lap. Wind off Faliro Bay may be the bigger pacing variable on exposed waterfront roads.
