Polar Night Half Marathon

The Polar Night Half Marathon gives runners a real winter race north of the Arctic Circle rather than a themed cold-weather event. It is the largest distance within Norway's biggest winter race day and draws an international field for the blue-hour light, snow-covered setting, and chance of seeing the northern lights around the trip.

The road route leaves Tromsø in midday darkness and uses lit streets and coastal sections before returning to the city. Snowpack and ice can change footing from one kilometer to the next. Traction, controlled turns, and comfort in cold wind matter more than the modest road profile.
