About the Ohrid Ultra-Trail 105K
Ohrid Ultra-Trail 105K is the flagship distance of a compact Balkan trail weekend. The route starts and finishes in Ohrid, then climbs through Galicica National Park between two large lakes. A small field and demanding entry standard keep the race focused on experienced mountain runners.
Course
The 105K loop carries 4,850 meters of ascent and descent from lakeside trails into Galicica's high alpine meadows. Nine aid stations support the route, but gaps can take several hours and the 25-hour limit leaves little room for extended stops. The terrain is technical and weather-driven route changes remain possible.
Race-day weather
Conditions can shift sharply between the lakeshore and the high points. The race begins at night, and the upper route can be cold before sunrise even when lower trails are mild. Waterproof layers, warm clothing and backup lighting are required planning tools.
