About the Ocean View Half Marathon
YuKanRun closes out its North Shore season with this race along Ipswich's Great Neck coastline. It counts toward the organizer's six-race half marathon series, and the pre-revolutionary homes along the route give it a character most late-season halves lack.
Course
The route traces the Great Neck coastline with long stretches of ocean view and passes houses that date to before the American Revolution. Expect neighborhood roads rather than closed highway, with the water in sight for much of the race.
Race-day weather
The first days of November on the North Shore usually bring 30s at the start and 40s or low 50s by the finish. Coastal wind is the bigger factor, and exposed waterfront stretches can feel raw.
