About the Montane Winter Spine Race

The full Spine is separately entered from five shorter winter races and gives competitors 156 hours to reach Kirk Yetholm.

Course

The point-to-point route climbs more than 10,700 metres through the Peak District, Yorkshire Dales, Hadrian's Wall and the Cheviots.

Race-day weather

Deep snow, storm-force wind, driving rain and subfreezing nights are central race hazards rather than unusual exceptions.
