About the SCOTT Sports Winter Cheviot Goat
The Cheviot Goat is a remote winter ultra based in Ingram, Northumberland. It is designed for experienced runners who can manage exposure, rough ground and long self-reliant stretches in one of England's least populated upland areas.
Course
The loop crosses peat, grassy banks and the high border ridge between England and Scotland. Most of the route is off road and difficult for vehicles to reach, so navigation, mandatory kit and independent problem-solving are essential.
Race-day weather
Early winter in the Cheviots can bring strong wind, rain, sleet or snow. Short daylight and saturated ground raise the cost of every climb and make warm, waterproof layers critical.
