About the Mid-South Marathon

Wynne now brands its race weekend as Mid-South Races for Hope, and the marathon inside it is one of Arkansas's longest-running 26.2-mile events. The field is small, the roads are rural, and finishers and their families sit down to a BBQ plate supper when it is over. Runners pick this race for quiet miles and small-town hospitality rather than crowd energy.

Course

The out-and-back route starts and finishes at Wynne Baptist Church, passes through part of the historic district, and follows Crowley's Ridge past working farmland. The course is USATF certified, and aid stations come roughly every mile with portable toilets close to each one. Expect long quiet stretches where you set your own rhythm.

Race-day weather

Early November in eastern Arkansas usually means a cool start and comfortable racing temperatures through the morning. Sun and a light breeze across open farmland matter more than heat, and fall color along the ridge is a real part of the day.
