Course
This is a nominal 42 km mountain race rather than a measured 42.195 km course, with about 2,800 m of climbing and the same descent. Roughly 76% is trail and 16% forest track. From the 9:00 start on Bagà's Porxada square, runners gain more than 1,000 m in the first 10 km to the Rebost aid station, then keep climbing to Niu de l'Àliga, the high point. A long descent through Sant Jordi and Aula Natura brings the route back to a finish on Plaça Catalunya, with four aid stations along the way.
Race-day weather
Early October can bring a cool start in Bagà and much colder, windier air near 2,500 m, and mountain weather can turn within a few hours. Check the required gear list against the forecast and expect to need more than a shirt on the high ground.
