Malta Marathon
Malta Marathon descends from ancient Mdina toward Sliema, pairing inland towns, harbor approaches, net-downhill pacing, and a coastal finish.
Quick facts
- Point-to-point route from Mdina to Sliema.
- Net descent supports quick finishing times.
- Urban turns interrupt the downhill rhythm.
- This event is separate from La Valette Marathon.
About the Malta Marathon
Malta's established winter marathon is a point-to-point race from the old capital to the Sliema waterfront. It is distinct from La Valette Marathon.
Course
The road route leaves Mdina and trends downhill through central Malta before reaching Sliema. Rolling interruptions and urban turns keep the net descent from feeling effortless.
Race-day weather
Winter race morning is usually mild, though wind, rain, or strong sun can alter conditions. The exposed waterfront finish may feel cooler than inland miles.
