Course
Runners follow rugged Badlands trail from Wannagan Campground toward Medora. Steep breaks, exposed ridges and natural footing add difficulty beyond the nominal distance, and the route is not a road qualifier.
Race-day weather
Late July in western North Dakota can become hot, dry and windy after a cool start. Shade is limited, while thunderstorms may develop quickly over exposed Badlands terrain.
